Are you struggling with fat shots and zero shaft lean at impact?
Here’s a simple drill to fix it, and all you need is the towel on your golf bag
First, grab a towel and lay it flat on the ground about one hand-length behind your golf ball.
Make sure it’s flush with the turf.
This towel is now your instant feedback tool.

If you’re hitting the ball fat or releasing the club too early, guess what… You’ll hit that towel before you hit the ball.
And that’s exactly what we want to avoid.

The goal is simple:
- Shift forward through the shot
- Maintain forward shaft lean
- Strike the ball before the ground
If done correctly, the towel stays untouched.

Think of it like this:
The towel punishes hanging back or flipping the clubhead early. It rewards solid contact and forward movement through the ball
Start slow. Hit some half-swings focusing on missing the towel. Feel the shaft lean. Feel your weight moving forward.
You’ll quickly notice crisper contact and a satisfying divot after the ball.

Master this towel drill, and you’ll:
- Eliminate fat shots
- Get forward shaft lean at impact
- Create clean, powerful strikes
No more fat shots
